Just like Fall … Dancing Adds Color to Life

It’s been a busy time for the studio with multiple dance competitions and other events.  Coming this week … Studio Night Out at the new location for the American Classic Ballroom.   Looking forward, starting in January, we’re offering a Ballroom Foundations class.  But don’t wait until then, come in now for dance lessons and be ready for all those holiday parties and fun gatherings.

September was a beautiful time to enjoy Boston and the DBDC competition.  In addition to dancing in the elegant, traditional ballroom of the Park Plaza, we enjoyed a tour of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, outdoor dining and social dancing at a Navy Yard Bistro, and the club night competition at Didio’s Hideaway.

October was a first time for attending the Hawaii Star Ball held in Waikiki, Oahu.  We started with a day of touring Oahu which included time at the Polynesian Culture Center.  The kickoff for the competition was a Hawaiian luau and ended with the Saturday evening gala.  In between was some time at the beach and the infinity swimming pool.

Minnesota Madness is an annual, fun event at the Media Ballroom hosted by Scott & Amy Anderson and Nathan Daniels.  It’s an opportunity for social and competitive dancers of all ages to get feedback from a panel of judges in a fun and friendly environment.

The Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 20th Annual Gala with a Roaring 20’s Theme.  The studio taught a fun Charleston / Peabody dance after dinner.  A member from each table was selected to participate; lots of laughs by the “dancers” and audience.

Join us for Studio Night Out this coming Saturday for a Halloween Dance at the monthly USA Dance – Minnesota.  It’s being held at the new location for the American Classic Ballroom, 1495 Steiger Lake Lane in Victoria.  The variety dance is 8 – 11 pm.  Halloween costumes are optional, but it’s more fun when you choose to come in your favorite costume.

New class.  Looking for a way to be more comfortable in social interactions? How about building more self- confidence?  Or, improving both your physical and mental health?

Dance lessons teach more than dance steps.  When done correctly, natural by-products of ballroom dancing include: improved posture; body awareness, balance and grace in everyday movement; improved social skills, and more.  And, dancing provides fun and excitement.

We are starting classes in January that will introduce you to the basic skills of ballroom dancing and all the additional benefits.  Stayed tuned for more details, in next month’s newsletter and our website.

Studio Offerings:

The Bloomington Ballroom Dance Center is a great place to develop or improve your dancing skills. We specialize in Ballroom, Swing, Latin, and Country Dance styles.  If you’re new to ballroom dancing, we start by building a good foundation of the basic elements of partnership dance.  Then, we build on that at each lesson.  Our goal is to help you develop the skill and confidence needed to feel great on the dance floor and reach your goals for choosing dancing.  While our focus is partnership dancing, you can learn to dance without bringing a partner with you.
